To get to the refuge, take Interstate 55 south to the Dutchtown exit. Follow Highway 74 to its intersection with Highway 25. Take Highway 25 south to Advance. Once you reach Advance, turn west on Highway C and head about 10 miles to Arab, Mo. Turn south onto Highway 51 at Ara and you'll see a sign for Mingo.
