FROM THE PULPIT: THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

The word which most accurately describes this attribute of God is omniscience. God knows everything: past, present and future. Nothing ever happens; has happened or will happen that God did not already know it to be so altogether. The infinitely supreme God is well acquainted with every detail of all things He has created (Prov. 15:3, Acts 15:18).

Some clear and defining bible passages are as follows: I Kings 8:39, Psalms 94:9-11, Psalms 139:1-24, Psalms 147:5, Ez. 11:5. These verses and so many more all point to the fact and blessed truth that God knows our thoughts and actions we take even before we speak and do them. Time does not allow me to illustrate all the related passages concerning this wonderful characteristic of Jehovah God.

This attribute is not well received by the unbeliever, but the believer in Christ rejoices that God is on His throne and reigns through the righteousness of His beloved Son. No man can hide from the all see Mig and knowing Lord of Zion, no sin will be unnoticed by omniscience, all things are open and naked to Him with whom we have to do (Heb. 4:13).

To the child of God this attribute brings much comfort and peace of mind. (Matt. 6:8, 10:29,3 0, 1 Cor. 8:3, Eph. 1: 8, 2 Tim. 2:19). "The apprehension of God's infinite knowledge should fill the Christian with adoration. The whole of my life stood open to His view from the beginning. He foresaw my every fall, my every sin; yet, nevertheless, fixed His heart upon me. Oh how the realization of this should bow me in wonder and worship before Him (A.W. Pink).
