This weekend will be brought to you by the letter E. E is the first letter of eclectic, meaning to derive ideas from a broad and diverse range of sources.

The eclectic calendar for Friday, Saturday and Sunday includes dance shows, alt rock/punk concert, an Arena Building show with multiple local acts and various out-of-town or new bands packing bars in downtown Cape Girardeau.

Your entertainment (oh, there's another E-word) options run the gamut. From the dance concert detailed in the story on page 9A to the Ludo concert in the story above this space to The Show 2009, you have a menu with tastes to please every palate.

Don't stop at the Big 3, though. Bel Air Grill has opened for the season (another E-word applies here: excited). The outdoor hot spot has two bands on Saturdays for afternoon and evening pleasure.

Moodminder, a guaranteed party band, follows up last weekend's Holy Trinity show with a performance in Scott City at Schock's Pub. Buckner regulars Barnacle Billy & the Zebra Mussels play across the street from the new faces of Powder Mill at Rude Dog.
