As we celebrate the holidays we should pause to remember those who have stepped forward to serve in the military. Some current service members and veterans will be spending the holidays in hospitals and other care facilities due to injuries and wounds suffered in service. They and their families, as well as the families of those who have perished, should be in our thoughts and prayers especially during the holidays. This nation can never fully repay the debts we owe these brave men and women who served us. Our military and our veterans are the embodiment of patriotism and service, and there is no group of people who wish for "peace on earth" more than those who have seen war.

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to all.
