Schnucks Markets Inc., headquartered at St. Louis, is expanding a partnership program with a group of Missouri and Illinois farmers.
The Bootheel Missouri/Southern Illinois Farmers Cooperative, formed over the past two years, will involve more than 40 farmers in the program this year.
Schnucks first partnered with the group last year and bought 168 tons of fresh produce. The produce included watermelon, zucchini, okra and purple hull peas.
