MEMO: PLANT ELIMINATED

Workers at the Roadmaster bicycle factory in Delavan, Wis. have been informed the plant's new owner, Brunswick Corp., plans to close the plant, eliminating about 450 jobs.

Plant manager Bob Guinn said workers were told in meetings last week that Brunswick, based in Lake Forest, Ill., plans shift production to its factory in Olney, Ill.

Brunswick's purchase of the Roadmaster bicycle plant was completed last month. Roadmaster has produced mountain bikes in the mid- to upper price brackets.
