The Corps of Engineers is conducting a study for a Blytheville Slack Water Harbor projects.
Larry Hellums, chairman of the Blytheville-Mississippi County (Ark.) Regional Intermodal Authority Board, said the study could be completed within a couple of months.
If the Corp report is favorable, Mississippi County officials would try to raise money for a new port, which would cost an estimated $8 million. A study for the new port was initiated in 1997.
