The Missouri Small Business Development Center of the Cape Girardeau County office of the University of Missouri service will offer several classes for small businesses in coming weeks. The classes will cover topics ranging from customer service to general information about the types of help available through the center. Anyone interested in the courses should contact the center at 243-3581.

  • A customer service seminar will be offered at 6 p.m. Jan. 9 at Perry County Health Department offices at 321 Main St. in Perryville, Mo. The class will present ways to identify customer moods and tailoring responses.
  • The center and the Small Business Administration will provide help finding assistance for management, financing and other issues facing small business during a two-hour session beginning at 6 p.m. Jan. 23 at Cape Girardeau County Extension Center at 684 W. Jackson Trail in Jackson.
  • A course on predicting future cash needs will be offered at 6 p.m. Jan. 31 at Riverside Regional Library, 44 N. Winchester St., in Benton, Mo. The course is designed to aid business owners and others in the use of a cash budget, estimating future sources and uses for cash and making cash projections.
