James Zimmer, a native of Southern Illinois, has returned to the area to accept the position of airport manager of the Mount Vernon Airport.
Zimmer has been around the aviation scene a number of years. He has served as a flight instructor and has flown corporate jets as a charter pilot. Zimmer also has a bachelor's degree in aviation management and a master's in airport administration from SIU-Carbondale.
He served as manager of the Cairo Airport during the mid-1990s.
