BUSINESS MEMO: USWA CONTRACT APPROVED

NEW MADRID -- Noranda Aluminum Inc. Primary Products and United Steelworkers of America (USWA), Local 7686, have announced approval of a new five-year collective agreement.

USWA members voted by a two-thirds majority to approve the new contract, which goes into effect Sept. 1.

The approval followed two weeks of negotiations and allows for increased wages and improvements to pension and vacation benefits.
