SBC Communications Inc. has announced financial results for the third quarter.
Revenues for the quarter were $6.3 billion, up 6.5 percent, from the $6 billion during the same period in 1996, reflecting gains in access line at both SBC's Southwestern Bell and Pacific Bell subsidiaries.
Earnings for the quarter, following adjustments related to merger and other costs, were $859 million, or 94 cents a share, compared to $867 million and 94 cents a share during the same period a year ago.
