Procter & Gamble Co. is selling its Duncan Hines line of baking mixes to MBW Investors LLC of Columbus, Ohio.
MBW Investors owns Aurora Foods Inc., manufacturer of Mrs. Butterworth's syrup and pancake mix, and Log Cabin Syrup.
Duncan Hines, purchased by P&G in 1956, has 26 percent of the market for cake and cupcake mixes, running behind General Mills' Betty Crocker line, which has 37 percent of the market. Duncan Hines generated $250 million in sales last year.
