Southeast Day - Amazing Race

Registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator Anita Smith (right), RD, LD, CDE, of the Southeast Diabetes Center discusses nutrition with Sharon Welker of Cape Girardeau and her granddaughter, Ryleigh Welker. The Welkers and other shoppers participated in the Amazing Race at Kohl's on Saturday, Nov. 6. The event featured a "race" through Kohl's to find answers to health and wellness questions at stations set up by the Diabetes Center and the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation. Fifty-three people participated in the race. Prizes were awarded to winners in three age categories.
