Central (4-5) at Sikeston (1-8)

  • Last week's games: Central 34, West Plains 31; Poplar Bluff 8, Sikeston 0
  • Last year: Central 33, Sikeston 20
  • Notes: Blake Slattery threw for nearly 300 yards and Tyler McNabb hit a pair of crucial field goals as Central put itself in the driver's seat in Class 4 District 1. The Tigers clinched the district when Sikeston fell to Poplar Bluff on Friday. Central did little on the ground, playing without starting running back Hykeem Hammonds for the second straight week. Tyler Terry had a 90-yard touchdown run, Derek Walker caught a pair of touchdown passes and sophomore George Hamilton had more than 100 yards receiving.

Portageville (0-8) at Chaffee (2-7)

  • Last week's games: Hayti 22, Chaffee 6; St. Vincent 34, Portageville 6
  • Last year: Portageville 40, Chaffee 6
  • Notes: Chaffee gets another crack at win No. 3 against winless Portageville. The last win for Chaffee over Portageville came in 2000, the last time Chaffee managed three wins in a season. Portageville has scored more than seven points in just one game this season.

Hayti (7-2) at St. Vincent (5-4)

  • Last week's games: Hayti 22, Chaffee 6; St. Vincent 34, Portageville 6
  • Last year: Hayti 49, St. Vincent 28
  • Notes: St. Vincent has won four of its last five games. After managing just 53 points through six games, St. Vincent has its season point total up to 182 after a trio of blowout wins. Greg Finger and Lucas Robinson each rushed for more than 80 yards against Portageville, and Roinbson had four touchdowns.

Friday

Jackson (5-4) at Seckman (5-4)

  • Last week's games: Parkway West 29, Jackson 7; Eureka 22, Seckman 7
  • Last year: Jackson 27, Seckman 7
  • Notes: The Indians have lost three straight heading into their season finale, the last two of which dropped from district contention. Jackson is searching for its third straight winning season.

St. Pius (1-8) at Scott City (5-4)

  • Last week's games: Crystal City 38, Scott City 0; St. Pius 41, Grandview 22
  • Last year: did not meet
  • Notes: Scott City fell apart in Friday's wind and rain and lost a lopsided affair to state-ranked Crystal City. Scott City could not stop the Hornets' rushing attack and had little offense of its own. Cody Carlyle continued to lead the way, gaining 99 yards on the ground to raise his total over 900 yards this season. Scott City had won four straight before the loss. St. Pius won for the first time last week by beating winless Grandview.

Perryville (4-5) at Kennett (1-7)

  • Last week's games: New Madrid County Central 15, Perryville 12; Dexter 37, Kennett 0
  • Last year: Kennett 21, Perryville 20, OT
  • Notes: The Pirates hung tough last week but fell at home to New Madrid County. Perryville still has a chance to finish at .500 with a win against the struggling Indians. Kennett's lone win came against winless Portageville, and the Indians also provided Sikeston with its lone win this season. The game could provide Perryville with a little revenge after suffering an overtime loss to Kennett last year during a winless campaign.
