CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Chester Frazier had 17 points and Shaun Pruitt added 15 as Illinois defeated Michigan State 57-50 Tuesday night.
The Illini (16-8, 4-5 Big Ten) set the tone with a 28-17 advantage at halftime. Michigan State (17-6, 4-4) went on a 13-4 run to close Illinois' lead to 40-36 with 8:45 to play but got no closer.
Travis Walton led Michigan State with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists as the Spartans dropped their second consecutive conference loss.
