• Diabetic Health and Foot Fair: 8 to 11 a.m. at the Jackson Senior Center. The fair will administer diabetic testing and pass out foot care products. For more information, call 334-1300.
• Men Battling Cancer fellowship group: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Cancer Society, 106 Farrar Drrive, Suite 104. For more information, call 334-2230 and select option 7.
• Asthma education: 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Generations Center. Free asthma education program for children, adults and their families. Class size is limited; to register, call 651-5825.

• Breast-feeding class: 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Generations Center. Class covers topics such as the benefits and techniques of breast feeding, family involvement and support.

Monday

• Childbirth preparation class: 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Harrison Room. The class eases expectant parents' concerns and gives them a positive, confident attitude toward labor and delivery. To register, call 651-5825.

Nurses group hosts conference Sept. 6

The Heartland Advanced Practice Nurses Network (HAPNN) will host the 10th annual Primary Care Conference for Advanced Practice Nurses from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 at the University Center on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. The conference has been approved for six contact hours and is appropriate for advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, physician assistants and students enrolled in advanced practice nursing and allied health programs.
