The Bold and the Beautiful event
Concepts Styling Salon, 107 W. Drive in Cape Girardeau, will host its ninth annual Bold and the Beautiful event and fundraiser. Deals and a gift with purchase will be available all day, and a reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. with champagne, cupcakes, giveaways and makeup demonstrations. Pink Up Zumba Party
Join Saint Francis Medical Center and Fitness Plus for a Pink Up Zumba party tonight in the multipurpose gym at Fitness Plus, 150 S. Mount Auburn Road, Entrance 8. The doors open at 5 p.m. and warmups begin at 5:30. The event is free and open to all. Donations will be accepted, and Pink Up merchandise will be available for purchase. For every $5 donated to Pink Up during the event, supporters will be entered in a raffle drawing.
Pink Ice Cream Social
SoutheastHEALTH and first responders will serve pink ice cream from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Southeast Health of Reynolds County, Ellington, Missouri. Dog owners can participate "Pooches in Pink" event: dress your dog in pink, post a photo at Facebook.com/SoutheastHEALTH and receive a free and unique dog treat.
Breast Cancer Meet & Greet
Several cancer experts will be available to answer questions from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Southeast Cancer Center, 789 S. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau. Topics include mammograms, detection and treatment, clinical trials, breast reconstruction and radiation. Doctors scheduled to attend are Dr. Sarah Colwick, Dr. Andrew Dickey, Dr. Joseph Miller, Dr. Andrew Moore, Dr. James Mosley and Dr. John Humphrey.

Stop by the Dexter Wal-Mart from 9 a.m. to noon for a health risk assessment, to learn about your risk level for being diagnosed with breast cancer and to Southeast physicians serving the Dexter area. The first 50 participants will receive a Wal-Mart gift card.

Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Walk-A-Thon

Pink Walk
The Cape Canine Cruisers will hold a dog and human walk from 9 to 11 a.m. at Busch Pet Products, 1720 Kingsway Drive, Suite 105 in Cape Girardeau. There is no cost, but a $5 donation gets you a pink bandanna for breast cancer awareness. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Busch Pet Products.
Take a Swing at Cancer
Pink golf balls will be used all day at Arena Golf, 2901 Hawthorne Road in Cape Girardeau. A portion of putt putt and driving range fees will be donated to Dig for Life.
Women's Health Event
Join SoutheastHEALTH for a Women's Health Event from 10 a.m. to noon at Academy Sports + Outdoors, 270 Shirley Drive in Cape Girardeau. Guests are invited to talk with physicians, take a health risk assessment, learn how to schedule a mammogram and more. The first 100 participants will receive a $10 gift card to Academy Sports. Fire, police and emergency medical representatives will sell "The Bravest Wear Pink" T-shirts to benefit SoutheastHEALTH Foundation's Cancer Care Fund, which provides support and resources to cancer patients and others who cannot afford preventive screening.

Pink Moon Run & Walk
The sixth annual Pink Moon Run & Walk, organized by A Sister's Hope, starts at 5 p.m. at the Cape County Courthouse in Jackson. The event begins with a welcome and 8K walk at 5 p.m., followed by the 8K run at 6 p.m., a 3K walk/run at 6:15 and an awards presentation at 7 p.m. Registration is $28, and a long-sleeve T-shirt and glow sticks are guaranteed for those who sign up and pay by Oct. 10. The event will also include costume competitions for pets and humans. After the race, head to Stooges, 507 W. Main St. in Jackson, where a free drink will be offered to each Pink Moon participant. During October and November, the IHOP in Cape Girardeau and Applebee's restaurants in Cape Girardeau, Sikeston and Poplar Bluff, Missouri, will match donations made to the Cancer Care Fund at SoutheastHEALTH.

Take a Swing at Cancer
