Breast cancer awareness events

Several businesses and organizations will recognize October as breast cancer awareness month with fundraisers or awareness programs. Schnucks in Cape Girardeau is again dotted with pink, and several products turn their packaging pink. Dig for Life

Southeast Missouri State University and Saint Francis Medical Center have teamed up again for the Dig for Life campaign where the university's women's volleyball team raises money per dig, a volleyball move. The fundraiser will continue at home games in October.

Pink Up Cape

The Saint Francis Medical Center is turning parts of Cape Girardeau pink to raise awareness and support for breast cancer. The hospital has turned its fountain and all advertising materials pink for the month. Employees will wear pink exam gloves and pink scrubs.
