To the editor: There are 700 million barrels of oil in the strategic oil reserve. Our legislators want to release 70 million barrels to reduce the price of gasoline. This has been done before, and it did reduce gas prices, but after a short period gas prices rose higher than before...

There are 700 million barrels of oil in the strategic oil reserve. Our legislators want to release 70 million barrels to reduce the price of gasoline. This has been done before, and it did reduce gas prices, but after a short period gas prices rose higher than before.

The oil in reserve is our oil. We paid for it with out tax dollars, and we will pay for it again when we buy gas. The 70 million barrels would have to be put back into reserve by law. Who will pay for that? We will. We will have paid for that oil three times.

When will it ever end? And how much longer do we have to put up with stupidity and arrogance? Doesn't anyone else smell organized crime in Washington, D.C.?
