Two rallies, two ideologies

For years every major study has shown America to be 80 percent conservative, moderate or independent, while 20 percent of Americans claim to be liberal. This past weekend, the rallies in Washington, D.C., revealed the striking differences.

The Beck rally was three hours of nonpolitical testimonials, patriotic speeches, religious music and citizenship awards for faith, hope and charity.

St. Louis Cardinals star Albert Pujols received one of the awards for his community work in the St. Louis area and for his work to help the victims of Down syndrome nationwide. The entire event promoted faith, family and country.

Meanwhile, the Sharpton rally focused on the decades-old liberal agenda of blaming the government (the Democrats run Washington) for not doing enough for blacks, latinos, gays and lesbians.

According to liberal NBC News, in a New York Times posting, the conservative rally was estimated to have at least 300,000 attendees. Event organizers put the estimate at 500,000.

Not mentioned much by the mainstream media is the fact that the event raised over $5 million for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. This foundation pays for the college education for all children who lost special ops mothers and fathers in service to our country.

I say kudos to all the parents and grandparents who traveled from throughout the United States to show their love of country to the world. There's still hope for our grandchildren's futures.
