To the Editor:

On Jan.~ 11, I had the pleasure of attending my first inaugural parade in Jefferson City, Mo. It was one of the most exciting and memorable experiences of my life.

The major credit for the experience being as exciting and memorable as it was goes to the Central Tiger Marching Band. They showed poise and discipline as they marched in freezing weather of 24 degrees, weather so cold that the water in some of the horns froze. I commend Mr. Nall and Mr. Casey for the hard work they did in preparing the Tiger Marching Band for such an event. Without the hard work and dedication of all concerned, I doubt that there would have been an invitation to march in the inaugural parade.

The trip through the State Capitol (the Thomas Hart Benton paintings making it especially impressive) is an event that I shall never forget; and, I am certain, the students will remember it long after they have been graduated.

Again, I say thank you to the students, their parents, and the institution and instructors that helped to make it all happen.

I am proud of our Central Tiger Marching Band; and, although I am now retired, I feel pride in having been a part of Central Senior High School for the number of years I was associated ~with it as a teacher and a coach.
