Southeast Missouri SEABEE Chapter Island V would like to thank you for the outstanding news coverage you provided on the U.S. Navy Seabee Monument dedication throughout the Southeast Missouri area. There were more than 250 in attendance with many families, friends and our supportive Marine comrades, plus more than 80 Seabee Veterans on hand for the dedication of the granite monument that was in recognition to those Seabees who served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and more recently, in Iraq and Afghanistan.
There also were quite a number of World War II Seabee Veterans helping unveil the camouflaged monument, including those who fought in the Pacific and especially one survivor who stormed the beaches of Iow Jima.
Again, thank you for supporting our veterans. We appreciated it.
THOMAS M. MEYER,
Seabee Chapter Island V, Cape Girardeau
