More welfare

SPEAKING ABOUT welfare, Reagan and the Republican Party created welfare. They tried to destroy all the unions. They wanted to destroy all the working conditions of the working class of people. A lot of people, especially construction people. are working for the same amount of money they got 15 to 20 years ago. And you wonder why welfare is on the rise. Now you're taking about taking all the welfare benefits away from them. Instead of working out in this real hot weather, they'd be better of on welfare. They don't really accomplish anything going out there. They can't buy anything. They've got to get assistance from the government and from the state. And the reason is because their wages are too low. Gingrich is talking about all these things. He couldn't live on it. He wouldn't ever try. He doesn't need a union to keep his wages up. They just vote their wages in.
