Mailing addresses

I WAS just reading about the postmaster telling about people that they have been given enough time to get their addresses changed correctly so that their mail can be delivered to the post office boxes and they are going to crack down on it, I have a suggestion for the postmaster. You need to crack down on your carriers. I have an address that indicates that I live on the back of a lot and that I have a mailbox on the back of the lot. Once or twice a week the postman leaves my mail at the house on the front of the lot, when it states very plainly on the envelope that my mailbox is on the rear of the lot. We need some help from the post office, because my neighbor shouldn't have to bring my mail back to me once or twice a week because the carrier doesn't look to see what the complete address is.

Life at conception

THIS PRO-LIFE fanatic has an answer for the pro-abortion fanatic. We start counting a baby's intra-uteran life from the day he or she was conceived. When you go to the doctor he will tell you that your baby is two, three or whatever months along. He does not tell you when your fetus will be born. Believe him when he tells you your baby will be born in so many months.

Legality of birth

I'M RESPONDING to a Speak Out entitled "Question of Age." I really can't believe that I'm responding to this, because it's so obvious. The person asks of the pro-life fanatics, if in fact the fetus is a person, why does a person's age begin at the day of their birth rather than the day they are conceived. I can't believe this person doesn't know how people are conceived and how people are born. When people are born it is easily documentable. You have to have a birth certificate for a legal document. It tells where and when and to whom the person was born.

School lunch truth

I WANT to comment about some of the people that said that Rush Limbaugh is lying and he is a disgrace and all this. Now here's something we can find out whether Rush is lying or not: the school lunch program. Look up and see whether the news media, CBS, ABC, Dan Rather and them are lying, because they are going along with what the Democrats said about it's going to be cut when in reality it is being raised 4.5 percent. Children are going to get more where Clinton was only going to give them a 3.2 percent raise. It's just going back to the locals and still the old news media, the liberals are saying that it is being cut. Now they got to know better than that if they are reading. I mean here I am a person here in Cape Girardeau and I can read what's going on. I just suggest that people read. Read what's going on, and you'll know the difference. You'll find out who's lying and then you'll find out there is a real need for this alternate news media, which one day will become dominant, such as Rush Limbaugh and these others. We need to get an alternate source of news coverage other than the big three or big four on television.

I HAVE a question on how long it takes to get one of these comments in the Speak Out.

Reply: Speak Out calls are transcribed every day and usually edited the same day they are transcribed. Each day a portion of the transcribed calls are used in the space available that day for Speak Out. Editors try to use the most recent calls in order to keep Speak Out timely. Because there isn't enough space to run all of the calls, this means some of the comments won't be used at all.

Reflecting viewpoints

TO THE caller in Monday's Southeast Missourian who considers Rush a subversive and a national security risk. He is probably the furthest thing from it that we've ever had in this country in my generation, and I'm a World War II veteran and a Korean veteran who volunteered for both. He has done everything that most of the Americans who follow him agree with. See, he's not telling them what to do or what to think. He's reflecting the views that we've held for a long time and nobody's paid any attention to. And as far as his derogatory remarks about the commander-in-chief, Clinton. There's no question about it, any realistic person who reads the paper or listens to the radio or the TV would know that Clinton is a man of weak character. He is full of immorality, unethical and financial skullduggeries. This is not only true since he's been president, but it goes back into his days in Arkansas as governor and even back before that. He's being investigated in several ways, even involved in the suicide of Foster. And all of his people are being investigated he has in the Cabinet. Half have been fired because of it, and the rest of them probably will be before his time is out if he lasts that long. Rush Limbaugh is probably one of the best things to happen to America and you can depend on that because most of the people believe him.
