Witchcraft on cable TV
AS SOON as I find out that they have taken Channel 11 off the air off the Cape television cable, my cable will be yanked out of my house if I have to yank it out myself. It seems like to me that the city of Cape Girardeau could get a cable company into this town that is worth a darn. But instead they don't care. Cape TCI says it doesn't have room for Channel 11 on their deal, but they've got room for witchcraft and everything else. What is wrong? Did you know that witchcraft is of the devil? So from now on I'll go back to my antenna or I'll get me a satellite, but no more of this television mess that I've got in here.
Planning and zoning needed
THE PEOPLE who are complaining about the planning and zoning committee ought to shut up, because the plain and simple fact is if they saw what I am living next to they would honestly say that we need a planning and zoning committee. They don't care about their property. They put their trash out in the lawn. If somebody had to live next to that, they'd be all for the planning and zoning committee also.
Leaves are waiting
I WAS just wondering, this is the week of Christmas, and the city still hasn't picked up the leaves at the Briarwood and Sherwood streets. Just wondering what happened.
The know-nothings
I NOTICED our president was in the paper talking about adopting kids and foster families. I soon realized he doesn't know anything about either one. I think for the first time in history a man who knows nothing has surrounded himself by a whole bunch of people who know absolutely nothing.

Saintly by comparison
IT LOOKS like Newt Gingrich will not be speaker of the House for very long. Why, he's so crooked, you put Clinton up beside him, and Clinton looks like a saint.
Rams vs. Indians or Tigers?
I WAS wondering if something could be worked out to where maybe we could get the Jackson Indians or the Central Tigers to play the Rams football team in St. Louis. I believe that Jackson or Central could beat the Rams at this point. It's worth a thought.
Downtown decorations
I JUST want to compliment the downtown merchants. I had to mail some letters downtown, and I drove down Main Street and from Broadway all the way down to William, it is just beautifully decorated. The lights are just gorgeous. You all have done a wonderful job. Good luck next year.
Not on the front page
I'D LIKE to make a comment about your biased newspaper. Our friend, Newtie Gingrich, didn't make the front page this morning. How come? This is a big story, the evidence is there, it's proof. He may have to back out of his position, and he's only on the third page. Boy, I tell you if this was Clinton and no proof at all, you better believe you'd put it on the front page and in the headlines. Thanks a lot.
Stay out of private lives
I THINK Peter Kinder's got a Peeping Tom mentality when it comes to worrying about what goes on in the Clinton bedroom. Is this all he can think about? He should be able to talk about something besides their private lives. It's none of his business.
