THIS CALL is in response to the person who said he wasn't a Democrat or a liberal giving Clinton the credit for the end of welfare as we know it. I think they need to go back and read the past year's work through the Republican House and our buddy Newt. I think that's where the credit should go.
Two kinds of killers
I JUST watched the news of the young couple who are accused of murder and face the death penalty for the baby that was killed. I would just like to say people like this are called monsters, terrible baby killers. Two young kids are scared to death and really didn't mean to do anything wrong. But it's OK for people to kill babies with partial-birth abortion. What is the difference? To kill the baby while it's still in the mother's womb or halfway out of the mother's womb, is that OK? But if the baby's all the way out of the mother's womb, you're a monster if you kill it. To me, death is death, and it's much more wrong for someone who knows what they're doing and going on deliberately destroying a human being than for two young kids who are scared to death. I'm not saying they did right but I don't know why they become monsters and the abortion people are blessed and protected by our government.
Liars who give their vow
THE MOST asinine thing I have ever heard is having a liar swear to tell the truth. Can you imagine a liar getting on the witness stand saying "I swear to tell the truth," and he's lying through his teeth the whole time.

Get to the center
IF YOUR paper wants to stay in the mainstream, I think it's about time you moved over there. You know what's happened to Rush Limbaugh. He was a real hot tamale with his syndicated show. Now, if it's not off the air, it's before the late news or the early, early news at sunrise. The people are sick and tired of this old garbage of the ultra-right wing giving their silly views. You know what happened to bomber Bob Dornan out in California. In a very strongly Republican area, he was booted out by a Hispanic woman. Don't you understand? You'd better get to the center. You're kidding yourself if you think you can espouse your right wing views and push them off on a bunch of dumb hillbillies out here in the hills. We know better than that.
Why all the shock?
WHY SHOULD so many be shocked at the headlines of the freshmen college teens having killed their newborn baby? Why all the shock and disgust when this happens every minute in our country, in the good old U.S.A., in the form of partial-birth abortions? Think about it.
Good driving would work
RECENTLY THERE have been two comments in Speak Out saying there should be a four-way stop at Sprigg and Bertling because of an accident or near accident. It is my opinion that if a four-way stop were placed at every intersection where there was an accident or near accident, most intersections in Cape Girardeau would have a four-way stops. I have even seen accidents at four-way stops. What we really need is drivers who yield at yield signs, stop at stop signs, observe the speed limit and use their turn signals.
