I'D LIKE to say a job well done to the city police and the City Council for shutting Peppy's Sports Bar down. I believe they did a good job. They should have just gone a step further and declared it a nuisance so it would have to be permanently shut down.
IF YOU guys in the Speak Out section want a real kick, call the toll free number for the Internal Revenue Service for questions. It's 1-800-829-1040. By the time you get through the voice mail, you could have done your taxes. And then, when you get to the end, they have a personal callback system. You don't get to anybody to ask your question. You get to talk to another machine. What is the world coming to when you can't get personal service from the IRS? Call it, you'll see.
WELL, HERE we go again. The man with the tablecloth for headgear is back in the White House again. Apparently he spent the money he got the last time. He's back for more. This is pathetic. The man stood on the White House lawn and shook hands with this other guy, and nothing's been settled. What's Bill Clinton doing getting his nose inside of it? Let them settle their own problems and use their money to run their countries with.
SO WHAT if Clinton had a fling with this lady? That's between him and his maker. You media and Republicans, give him and us a break. You must be desperate for news.
TELL ME how Kenneth Star switched from Whitewater to a possible affair of Clinton's. I think he's looking for problems. I think that shows how low Republicans will stoop.
THERE'S A low-water bridge off Highway 72 west of Jackson. It's known as Hartle's Ford. Just about every weekend they have beer parties out there, and there's a lot of underage drinking. This is common knowledge in Jackson. This is Cape County. I just wonder why the sheriff's department doesn't break these parties up.
I AM so tired of hearing about President Clinton's sex life. I'm not interested about his or anyone else's sex life. I voted for a president who would do things for the people, and I believe that's what he's doing, although the Republicans have had a hard time dealing with this since he was elected. He's balancing the budget. That's more than the other presidents did. He's working to try to save our Social Security and try to see that the people have some kind of insurance so they can take of themselves. So as far as sex life goes, I would bet that most men have at some time or the other done the same thing, even the great Republicans that are working so hard to get him out. Just maybe Kenneth Starr and some of the lawyers should have had their backgrounds checked. And these women, I don't call them ladies because a lady wouldn't show her sex life in front of the all the newspapers around the world. I just wonder how our Lord is receiving all this. Maybe getting down on their hands and knees and asking for forgiveness. Running our country isn't based on how much sex you have or how often. It's about being smart enough and intelligent enough to run our country. And what man are you going to run for president that hasn't had sex and maybe will when he gets to be president?
CAPE GIRARDEAU needs a referral network like we need a hole in the head. Come off it, you organizers who want funding to create jobs for yourselves. People know how to access social services.
THIS IS to the person who thinks I'm a fool for deploring our present system of welfare and all it implies. I didn't notice any doubt that liberals started it. Also, do you really think we'd have all these pregnant teen-agers and welfare babies if the government stopped paying for them? What brought it home vividly to me was a recent TV show in which a group of young unmarried girls wanted babies. When asked how they would support them, they answered, "The government, they owe it to us." Well, I'm sorry, but this fool does not feel like paying for their illegitimate babies.
I WANT to make a comment about Zippergate, Clinton's latest sex scandal. This young girl, this teenager, when she started having an affair with Clinton, told her girlfriend, this Tripp, that she was mad because Clinton was messing with four other women who worked in the White House. She felt that he was cheating on her. This is one of the most ridiculous things that I ever heard of. When a woman's going with a married man, messing with him, going behind his wife's back, and then he's messing with other women, is this new morality where one of the women that he's messing with gets mad because he's messing with other women and claims that she's being cheated on? Maybe I just woke up like Rip Van Winkle, but I think this is ridiculous reasoning. No wonder we've got the kind of world we've got.
I THINK it's a shame the way they're doing President Clinton. Those women are lying. I know they are. They're out to get the money. They're hard up and they want money. I know he can't go to church and look God in the face and do things like that. I think it's terrible, because I know women, and they aren't angels, a lot of them. They're out to get the men's money. That's happening right here in Missouri. These women will go and hang around on these men to get the money, and that is the truth. I've seen it with my own eyes. I think it's terrible. I'm a woman, and I'm against it completely.
I HAVE never been so sick of watching the news as I have been watching all the hoopla about President Clinton and his alleged affair. No. 1, who cares if the man an affair? Big deal. Does that actually affect the way that he does his job as president of the United States? I don't think so. I think he's a very good president. He's the best president I can ever remember having, and I'm 33 years old. I admit, an obstruction of justice charge is perhaps serious, and I know that's the reason why the potential impeachment charges are hanging over his head. But let's talk about justice. Paula Jones. Come on. Give me a break. You tell me that woman didn't know what was going when those Arkansas state troopers asked her to go to a hotel room and meet the president. Give me a break. She knew exactly what was going on. So if you want to talk about justice, let's talk about the stupid sexual harassment charges that she has against the president. It's all stupid. Just leave the man alone. Who cares if he had an affair? If Hillary doesn't care, why should we care? Just leave him alone and let him do his job as president?
IF THE Republicans don't get off of the Democrats, we're going to wind up like England and have a king. Then nobody will have any say. The king will tell us what to do. Is that what you want?
I WILL give you the State of the Union Address right now before Bill Clinton ever opens his mouth. I've heard so many of them, and they're all the same. Employment is up, unemployment is down. Wages are high. Everybody's happy, everybody's doing good, we're doing great but we need to improve on our racial relations. Let's see, what else would he talk about? Something about other countries. We're doing just great in all these other countries. The address is a waste of time.
