IN JOHN 18, Jesus said, "I came to bring truth to the world. All who love the truth are my followers." Who are you going to follow, Jesus or Bill? IN THE middle of 3A of the Saturday, Sept. 12 edition of your paper, there's a short article headed by the headline saying "I have sinned, I have repented." It should be continued quoting Clinton so that the new headline would be "I have sinned, I have repented, now I'm ready to do it again."...

Ready to do it again

IN THE middle of 3A of the Saturday, Sept. 12 edition of your paper, there's a short article headed by the headline saying "I have sinned, I have repented." It should be continued quoting Clinton so that the new headline would be "I have sinned, I have repented, now I'm ready to do it again."

Do something about downtown building

I DON'T know who all is involved in the restoration of the downtown district, but I think they should do something about the old Buckner Ragsdale building. This is a horrible looking sight to be right on the corner of Main and Broadway at the same time they're trying to revitalize the downtown area. If something could be done about this building, it would make the downtown area complete.

It's the same free speech

HOW IRONIC that the very liberals who have been vociferous in their defense of those who distribute pornography, violence and other perversions to do so because it is an issue of free speech and the people's right to know are much less enthusiastic about the issue of free speech and the people's right to know when it comes to the details salacious actions being disseminated to the public.

President needs treatment

IN ALL this talk about Clinton, I'm shocked that I've only heard one other person feel as I do. The man is sick sexually and needs treatment. He will never resign. He and his wife want the power of this office too much.

GOP provided the jobs

I'LL TELL you what the Republican Party has done for the working man. The Republican Party has provided the businesses that the working man works in. If it wasn't for the Republican Party, where would the working man work?

Maintain moral standards

AMERICA, HAVE we forgotten the moral standards this country was founded on? For the sake of our children and future generations, let us raise our voices and demand Clinton be impeached. I'm so sick at heart that I cannot refer to him as president. Please tell your congressperson how you feel. Any person who can willingly desecrate the Oval Office as he has done should no longer be considered the leader of our country. He has completely humiliated us. And heads of churches, I ask you: Where are you? How can you stand in your pulpits and preach morality to me and my family?

Money could have been better spent

ALL I have to say is this: We spend $40 million of taxpayers' money to find out the president had sex, which is his own business. Whether it was in the White House or not, it really does not make a big deal, to be honest with you. Of course, in my opinion we could have spent that $40 million on better things like education, abuse and neglect programs, programs to help children, maybe send a few kids to college.

Isn't that God's job?

I JUST heard Paul Harvey say that scientists have discovered how to split sperm cells so that couples can choose the sex of their babies. Isn't that God's job or, for those who don't believe in God, nature's duty? Why do we think that we have the right to intervene?

Other alternatives

JUST BECAUSE people have children does not mean they should write bad checks. If it comes to that, they should think of another alternative like birth control and get a job if they have kids. That's all I can say. That's what I did.

Country needs integrity now

MANY PEOPLE within my acquaintance feel that those who think Clinton's behavior does not matter are people that have questionable integrity and low values themselves. The Republicans loved their country enough in the Watergate situation to do the right thing. Let's see if the Democrats love their country that much and have the integrity to do the right thing.

Get skateboarders off the streets

THIS IS to the parents of the child I almost killed today. Parents of young children who make decisions to ride skateboards on city streets should go ahead and either be planning a funeral or sign a donor card. I was driving under the speed limit on Kingsway today and almost killed a child. I don't know if this would have been my fault or your fault, but it would have been a horrible tragedy. I'm very shaken up by this. I'm upset at you for allowing your child to make me feel this way. Please, let's get a place for these children to go ride skateboards and get them off the streets.

Spend time with family

I HAVE always been impressed with Tamara's articles on Saturday mornings, and her Sept. 12 article was very good about saving young girls. But it makes me wonder how much time does she spend with her own child plus she has one on the way. She works plus does all these community things she mentions. That's not very much time for her own family. I think she needs to practice what she preaches instead of trying to save the world.

Good news up front

THIS IS concerning the person who called about the front page of the paper. Get a life. It's the greatest thing that happened for years. Good news, not bad news. Why not put the good news up front and then turn the page for the bad news? I think Mark McGwire should take over for Clinton, but that's my opinion. He's great, he's awesome.

By the sweat of your brow

THIS IS the 87-year-old man that the Democrat was really raising Cain about. I remember the crash. We had plenty to eat. We had to work for it. I was working mules in cotton fields in Arkansas when I was 7 years old. It was the crash of the market, but you could make a good living if you worked. You know, work by the sweat of your brow, earn your living. I went from mules to a tractor when I was 13. My dad and mother kept me busy all the time. You see, my grandfather was a yellow-dog Democrat. But in my opinion, the Democrats take it from the working man and give it to the deadbeat. I remember when you could buy a new pickup truck for $500, a new car for $600. It's all like this, folks, you've got to work, and most of your welfare people are Democrats. They want something for nothing. Work, work, work. I'm 87 and still working. I enjoy it. The Bible says, "Earn your living by the sweat of your brow." Not with food stamps and some money that some hard-working factory worker had to sweat for.

President no longer functioning

I'M JUST calling to express my opinion. Since the poll takers have not contacted me, I don't believe the polls results that are being reported on television. I think the president is no longer a functioning president. He should resign and get rid of this embarrassment and let us get on with running the country.

In the grips of the devil

WHO IN their wildest imaginations we'd ever think we'd have a sexual pervert for our president over the greatest country on Earth? It's like living in a nightmare. Only God and Congress can save us now. Our nation is in the grips of the devil. Clinton should be impeached.
