SEN. GRAMM is so much opposed to people getting their medical care. Well, I resent having to pay his medical care. My taxes go toward his health care. Why doesn't he save me money and pay all his health care out of his pocket?
I AM trying hard not to turn my back on having respect for the police. Even the fire department has some really rude workers. I was sitting with my husband looking at the new first responder truck. I told my husband that it was really nice and it was nice that they had a new truck. The firemen in the truck was giving me a rude, uncalled for look. I am about ready to tell the police and fire departments to shove it. I am a very displeased Cape resident.
BEING A figure-skating fan and curious to know when the skating was going to occur as far as the Winter Olympics go, I called up the U.S. Figure Skating Association and the U.S. Olympic Committee in an effort to find this information out. After about a week of phone tag and being told I could find the information on a web site, -- I should go here for it, I should go there for it, I needed a fax machine -- I finally finagled the list out of a person I had to practically beg for it. It's a list of nine dates and just a few more than that events. That's it. It took maybe a minute to tell it to me on the telephone. But these people were wanting to incur cost by doing it by fax. They didn't have the time to talk to me and just briefly read it to me. They kept saying, it's a big long list, it's a big long list, we don't have time, we don't have time. Hey, I know they're busy at this time of year. But come on, when in America in business do you not have time to read something that takes not even a minute over the telephone, to somebody who is a fan of your sport? You know figure skating is big and popular now, and it's because of fans like us. I don't own a computer. I don't own a fax machine. I don't want to hear about the technological surge being blamed on young people. I'm in my late 20s, and I hate it that people can't talk to each other anymore. It's really a shame, and it's bad business.
PEOPLE ARE becoming concerned about the increased problem with methamphetamine, and rightfully so. A couple of years ago, however, some of these people sat on their duffs and allowed others in Advance to remove a whole police force, a force that realized the problem and was working towards eradicating it. Arrests were made and others were imminent. Wouldn't it be nice to have that force still working? Maybe we would not have such a problem today.
HOW MANY little children will say tonight, "I want my mommy?" And how many of those little children will get to see their mommy? God help us all.
