HOW CAN somebody who has your kids say you abandoned your kids when they wouldn't let you see your kids and then they go behind your back and adopt your kids? Why doesn't the truth come out? I don't see how somebody can adopt any kids like that.
I WOULD like to comment about the man with nine DWIs. Please do something about this before someone becomes a victim. I was hit by a drunk woman driver at 8:30 a.m. March 2, 1984. She wasn't hurt. I spent 30 days in the hospital and had three surgeries. Three more are still needed as my knees get worse. I walk with a cane or walker. I can't carry my grandchildren. I've never known one day without pain since the wreck. My nursing degree went down the drain also. The woman who hit me received a fine of $500 and two days in jail. Then they suspended the jail time. She had no license or insurance, and it was her second DWI in two weeks. Please don't drink and drive.
BILL CLINTON didn't even mention Mark McGwire's name in the State of the Union address. He did, of course, honor Sammy Sosa. But the pope certainly recognized and acknowledged and embraced Mark McGwire. I think I'd rather be embraced by the pope than Bill Clinton any day of the week.
WILL YOU please print this public thank you? I feel good citizens should be acknowledged to balance out the bad ones. The good happened today, and I'm so grateful and would have liked to have thanked the gentleman in person and even offered a cash reward after he left an unsigned note my windshield of the car parked on Schnucks parking lot that my billfold he found beside my car was turned in to the Schnucks service center. I was paged while I was in the store, and valuable items returned to me intact. I hope a member of this person's family will read Speak Out and will let him know his kind act was appreciated very much. The bad happened a year ago when I lost some cash and some checks with name and addresses on the checks at another grocery store and I've never heard from that dishonest person. Signed, A senior citizen.
THE POPE and the pervert on the same platform. This man has more gall than anyone, living or dead. Against the moral convictions of the pope but still sitting there with his bottom lip pooching out trying to show his interest and agreeing attention. Hypocrisy at its worst.
THANK YOU to Channel 12 for televising the papal Mass. It was just magnificent. We weren't able to go up to see the pope, but we did feel as though we were there with him. What a magnificent leader he is for the whole Christian world.
