Clinton and Gore at the last minute have pulled off one that may put Gore in the White House and Hillary into the Senate. The picking of a Jewish senator for the vice president may do the trick. We know that Clinton and Gore have very effectively divided the races and social classes in America. Now if they can put the final touches on dividing the religious world, the country is theirs. Now any vote against Gore will become an anti-Jewish vote. The Republicans will be branded as bigots and anti-Jewish.
Let me tell you something, people. If you want an experience, go to a Jackson Board of Education at meeting sometime and try to talk to them. They won't hear a thing you are saying. They'll let you talk and they'll smile and they say Yeah, we need to look at that, but if you have any ideas different than theirs, forget it. They do not accept any ideas other than theirs. Any ideas other than theirs are negative. No wonder we've got a problem. They can't even understand who is voting against this.
We lived in Cape Girardeau for five years, and we attend the SEMO Fair every year. Why is the music entertainment all country? We enjoy country, but also we like rock and roll. I suggest mixing the music up and adding some variety to next year's lineup.
Gary Rust recently wrote that this is the most important presidential election in his lifetime. Mr. Rust and I are about the same age, The only presidential election during our lifetimes I might consider being more important would be those from 1940 through 1996.
My comment is regarding the Jackson Post Office. I wonder if anyone besides me has noticed the unkempt condition of the landscaping at the post office. There are big sprouts growing out of the bushes and all up and down the building. If you are at the post office, take a look at it. This doesn't really do our beautiful city of Jackson justice.
