RECENTLY I have noticed a large number of children on bicycles blowing through stop signs. If your child is hit, it will be his own fault for the most part. Please share with your children the importance of stopping at stop signs. Please teach your children to respect the roadways and others before they are involved in an accident.
HAVE you noticed how many trucks do not have license plates on the rear? Is there a new law? I don't know, I see a lot of different types of license plates on trucks, but they are not the kind you pay for. They're advertising.
PRESIDENT Obama appointed his friend, radical black nationalist Van Jones. as his green jobs czar. Jones, who was jailed for helping incite the 1992 Rodney King riots in Los Angeles, is attacking Glenn Beck, who continues to out Jones' dark past. Jones, who said he was "a rowdy nationalist" before his arrest, emerged from prison and said he had become "a communist." The White House apparently approves and has not raised any challenges or denials, saying only that "Jones is not a czar. He is a special adviser to the president." This is the kind of people who are running the big freighter that Rick Lettau compares to the presidency. This is the kind of man who gives Lettau a warm fuzzy reassuring feeling,
REGARDING the differences between fascism and communism: They're like a globe. If you go either direction far enough, you'll come to the same point. In the case of fascism and communism, it's tyranny.
DICK Cheney famously said, "Energy saving approaches might be a sign of personal virtue, but they are not a sufficient basis for a sound economic policy." The crown prince of Abu Dhabi is personally investing $15 billion in renewable energy sources. His country is also building a $22 billion green city in the desert with zero carbon emissions. Most European countries are way ahead of the U.S. in investment in renewables. This year China surpassed the U.S. as the world's top consumer of wind energy. The Chinese government set strict renewable mandates for utility companies. China now is the world's largest producer of solar panels. China set a goal of 30,000 megawatts of wind power by 2020. It will reach that goal this year. President Obama stated that U.S. cars will average 35.5 mpg by 2016. Chinese cars already exceed that. Not to worry, we're still the country with the most expensive health care in the world.
I am calling in response to the comment that said, "Mr. President, raise my taxes." Perhaps that person doesn't realize that he is more than free to voluntarily pay any amount he wants to the federal government. Send all your money in. Just don't ask me to pay for you.
WASHINGTON is broken, said Barack Obama while on the campaign trail. Now that he's in office, he's busy making it much worse. While an adoring media heaps adulation on him, Obama has presided over the appointment of an appalling rogues' gallery of crooks, cronies and tax cheats to the highest level of our government while reneging on promises to make government more transparent and accountable. Obama's radical administration started out corrupt and is getting even more corrupt thanks to the complacent and complicit media. Never has an administration taken office with more inflated promises of turning Washington around. Never have a media-anointed an American idol and his associates fallen so fast and hard. Their behavior is a comprehensive indictment of the culture of corruption that surrounds Team Obama's brazen tax evaders, Wall Street cronies, petty crooks, slum lords and business-as-usual influence. May God help us if we can survive this mess for at least four years.
I read the story about the lawyer in Cape Girardeau who embezzled money from a client and Morley Swingle, our prosecuting attorney, said that no requests had been filed for prosecution. Can an individual who's not affiliated with this case file a request for prosecution? In my opinion, the lawyer who embezzled should have charges filed against him. He should not be let off.
IF one commits a crime, one should be charged with it whether or not the victim's family files a complaint. Isn't embezzlement a crime?
