The colorful photo from the fair with the rainbow in it should be featured in a Saturday paper in COLOR. It is beautiful. Good job photographer. Missouri Press snub

I just can't let it go. As old as I am and as long as I've been a reader and contributor, you would think I would get over the fact that the Missouri Press Association's awards ceremony once again snubbed Speak Out.

Judge Kavanaugh

Bringing in unfounded, unsupported accusations from when Kavanaugh was a kid in high school is a new low. In putting that forth, they have shown they don't care about right and wrong, only about winning. This tactic the Democrats are using is disgusting beyond words. They should apologize to everyone involved, including Kavanaugh.

Fake crisis

Judge Kavanaugh will be confirmed. And Democrats will manufacture a new crisis of the day just as they did with Charlottesville, Dreamers, Helsinki, the interpreter at the North Korea talks, and so on. And the economy will keep humming along as the GOP governs without them.

Politics again

This political cycle has made it clear that U.S. politicians ideas of winning is strictly winning the elections and keeping their jobs and access to making money off of those jobs. When either party holds all three sections of the government and can't use that power to come up with real solutions or work to fix real problems, our system is broken. They stir up phony controversies to cover their inaction. The idea of not doing anything at all because attempting to fix health care or other issues might lose them the next election two years down the road is pathetic!

Trump Derangement Syndrome

I'm a Democrat who has been diagnosed with Trump Derangement Syndrome'. I went to the doctor, and found out Obamacare doesn't cover the treatment.

SEMO football

A recent caller called Cape residents to task for not supporting the football program. You've got around 10,000 students! Where were they? It costs them far less for them to attend a game than it does my family of four; also, we had our own kids sporting events. If SEMO wants community members to support their programs, prices have to be more affordable, and you've got to give use a program worth watching AND you've got to start building a sense of community yourself.

Straight ticket

As I observe the hate the democratic party is exhibiting toward President Trump, yes desperate hate, I have to wonder how anyone in their right mind could support such behavior. I have always voted for the person, weighing what they stand for. After 44 years of exercising my voter privilege, I am sorry to say I will no longer vote a split ticket. I will, from now on, vote a straight Republican ticket because anyone who runs on the Democrat ticket must support what the Democratic leadership exhibits and if hate is all they have to offer, there is no place for that behavior from where I stand. I believe there are thousands if not millions, just like myself that are fed up with these poor losers and their pure hate. Bring on 2018, 2020, 2024...Straight Republican here I come. The party of hate has only themselves to blame.

Red wave

"Voters elected political newcomer Pete Flores to the Texas Senate on Tuesday, flipping a Democratic district red for the first time in 139 years and further bolstering Republicans' super majority in the chamber ahead of the November elections." Hillary won the district by 12 points in 2016. There will be no blue wave.

FEMA appeals

I know facts don't matter to angry, unhinged Democrats, but FEMA's appeal denial rate for Puerto Rico is 74.76 percent. The appeal denial rate in Texas is 77 percent and Florida 74 percent. Most appeal denials are because people filled out forms incorrectly or did not include required documents. In Puerto Rico, the island government offers little to no oversight on property titling or deed transfers and allows widespread squatting.

Remember Ellison

Remember the woman who accused Democratic Representative Keith Ellison of domestic abuse? Democrats didn't bring her in for a hearing, call for an investigation, nor take her side because it wasn't convenient. Democrats are hypocrites.
