Cape Girardeau has many patriotic people who often fly the flag. However, I thought the flag was not to be flown after dark unless there was a light on it. I've seen many of these flags late at night and in the early hours, so they have apparently been left out all night. Has this rule been changed?
Wild kids
I have a complaint about teens running around the homes, damaging the homes and vehicles. Parents need to know what their kids are doing. They think it's funny, and it's going to turn out like St. Louis. They need to stop. We got Neighborhood Watch now. It's sad that people have to damage other people's property. It's just not fair. And something needs to be done about it. Cops have to be called every day, and it's just sad.
War support
I want to comment about the growing support for military action in the Middle East. The problem we're going to have is getting these people who support this military action, getting them in the Army. It's going to be hard. We're not going to be able to get the movie stars in there. It's going to be like Vietnam. The poor boys are going to have to do the fighting. I wish these people who are so war hungry would step up now and sign up.
Poor job by Nixon
So now Gov. Nixon has released half of the money earmarked for Cottonwood and $143M for education. He probably thinks we should be grateful, and far too many people will do that exact thing. Instead, we should all be outraged that he used education funds -- money intended for Missouri's children -- as a ransom to keep lawmakers from nixing his budget items. What kind of person uses two of the most vulnerable populations of our society as a weapon?
Powerball corrupt
Has anyone ever noticed how corrupt the Powerball is? If you don't make any of the first five numbers, but you get the Powerball, you win $4. If you match one of the five numbers and you get the Powerball, you still only get $4. I'm sorry, but if you match an extra number, you ought to get more than the same thing for just having the Powerball. To me, that's being a little bit corrupted.
