Great college town

I really love when the college students are back in town. There's just a little bit more energy around town. Maybe because of the college, but we really have some beautiful people working at our local restaurants. It's great living in a college town.

Sharing for sirens

Kudos to Cape's city council for sharing casino money with surrounding communities so that they may have storm warning sirens. I hope that in the future you might consider sharing revenue for the purpose of constructing safe rooms in schools, particularly since we live in tornado alley. I saw what happened in Oklahoma and realize that bunching students together in hallways does nothing to protect against rampaging, strong twisters.

Football returns

I can't wait for football to be back. There's nothing better than sitting in the stands, eating a hot dog and enjoying the atmosphere of an outdoor sporting event, especially when the Tigers win.

Sirens project

I'm no fan of gambling, but I do applaud the city for sharing some of the casino revenue with neighboring towns to acquire emergency warning sirens. Thank you to the mayor and city council for identifying a project that can have a real positive impact for people here.

Niemann Drive

This is in response to the caller from Niemann Drive complaining that the city sawed a big piece of concrete out of the street and now they want the city to fix it. I also live on Niemann Drive, and please city, stay away. Every time you come here it's worse than before.

Quiet please

I enjoy the Tunes at Twilight concerts every Friday. But a couple of weeks ago it was ruined by a group of ladies during the entire concert. In the future, ladies, be courteous to others around you. If you're not there to listen, go somewhere else.

Domestic matters

This is for the president: We shouldn't be worried about Syria and Egypt right now. We should take care of the problems we have here in our country. Domestic affairs should take priority over foreign affairs.

Foreign policy

The U.S. is going to have to quit policing the whole world. We just can't do it anymore and it's too expensive, including the loss of our military personnel.

Grass in the street

To the people on Donna Street and some of the people on Green Meadows Street: Some of you mow your yard and leave all the grass clippings out in the street. Some are nice enough to clean it up, but others think the city should clean it up. It makes the street look bad. So let's all get together and clean up after we mow.
