Those who deserve a free or reduced price school lunch should get it. Those who can afford to pay full price should pay.
It would be interesting to read some actual journalism on the Cape Girardeau Sportsplex. I suggest taking the amount that taxpayers lost with the development tax break, add the other taxpayer investments, plus the operation costs, and then deduct the amount of generated revenue (daily rental, estimated tourism dollars) to let us all know how big this economic boon really is. Hint: we haven't made any money yet.
People of R2 school district: Take note. Public hearing Aug. 27 for tax rate decision. The few on the school board should not be allowed to make this decision on their own. We the people should vote. The school wastes way too much money. If they need funds tell them to rent out their fancy football field that the taxpayers paid for. The notice for the hearing was hidden in the classifieds
When late night hosts even mention our President in negative tone, they lose this viewer. I tune them out and turn them off. Kimmel and Fallon are the worst!
I stopped in at Jefferson school today on their first day to drop off a package for my daughter-in-law who is a teacher at the school. My first impression as I pulled up on this first day of school was not a good one (it appeared that the grass hadn't been mowed in about a week), which wasn't a welcoming sight. But as I stepped through the doors I had quite a wonderful surprise. I walked into a bright, happy, uplifting world of learning! I saw a woman in a sequined jacket on a Segway, whom I later learned was the principal, Ms. Ragsdale. How cool! (I'm sure the kids loved that!) As I made my way to the room, you just couldn't help but smile! Well done, Jefferson Elementary staff.
According to figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 700,000 jobs have been added for African Americans during President Trump's 18 months in office, and it took Obama eight years (and a $900 billion stimulus) to create less than three million. And that's not Fake News.
If Adrienne Ross starts to publicly criticize President Trump (she urged him to lay off LeBron James), then you know he's in trouble.
