The column by Pastor Jeff Long about the Supreme Court's decision on same-sex marriage was a powerful one. A 5-4 decision reveals how split we are as a nation. The majority decided to rule by fiat. And it chose to base its decision on the argument of "dignity." That is a slippery slope, indeed. Better the issue were decided on the issue of "equal protection." Creating a "dignity" clause will lead to whatever future majorities on the court decide dignity to be. This is dangerous law, decided badly.
