Before you complain about a skate park, ask yourself this: "Do I want skateboarders running up and down the streets I'm driving on? Do I want them on the street in front of my house?" Bet I know the answer. As for someone getting hurt, what about the swings and the train in the park? You play at your own risk. When I was a kid we could use an empty neighborhood lot to play ball. Now someone would call the police. Kids need space to be kids.
Maybe it would be better if the Republican Party retained control of the Congress in 2014 and won the presidency in 2016. Then, the party might be really be held accountable by the American people, return to responsible conservatism and away from right wing radicalism. I just don't know.
Whenever Missouri lawmakers reflect on the just-completed legislative session, it would be wise to head for the hills, lest you want to be swamped in a deluge of self-serving spin.
The Freedom to Farm proposal, much ballyhooed by shameless area political demagogues, is nothing but a thinly veiled excuse to attempt to allow unfettered continuance of the abominable if not universal practice of abusing cattle, chickens and many other of God's great creatures, big and small.
The GOP is building an anti-Clinton infrastructure that aims to undercut her appeal more than two years ahead of the presidential election. That is because they do not have anybody worthy of being President and are only for the 1 percent. So, all they can do is make up lies and keep collecting their blood money from the NRA, and the likes of the Koch brothers, who are only out to put more money in their pockets.
The price of popular breakfast cereals is set to soar over the next 15 years as a result of climate change. But that doesn't bother Congress as they don't eat cereal with their steak and lobster. Just the middle class and poor eat cereal.
Missouri's Republican-controlled Congress and Senate want to do away with taxes that will benefit the rich and businesses. But they sure don't get in any hurry to give the middle class and poor their tax refunds that they have paid in. They are operating on $800.00 of my money. How many more Missouri citizens are getting the same treatment? I say hold up their pay and give what the people have coming to them that was taken out of the taxpayers' pockets. They claim everything should be paid for before any is given out. But that doesn't work when it comes to them.
Veterans' needs need to be taken care of. Not the 2 percent as Congress has been doing. The veteran administration can only do so much with what little money Congress allows them. Their Republican President is the cause of all the wounded from his wars of no mass weapons of destruction. I do not blame the VA, but do put the blame on this do-nothing Congress.
