Drive offs

Perhaps if convenience stores would concentrate more on selling gasoline than making customers stand behind people deciding what lottery tickets to buy, there wouldn't be such a problem with drive offs.

Lowry column

Dental clinic

A big shout out to the dentists and their assistants who volunteered their time for the free two-day dental clinic May 3 and 4.

Guns and people

This is in response to "Background checks." Guns don't kill people, criminals kill people.

Cape water

The money we pay for our utilities, I would expect the city could do something about how bad the water tastes and smells.

Culture violence

Does violence on TV cause violence in our culture or does it reflect our culture? I think both are true and it perpetuates violence.

Sullivan column

Joe Sullivan's calling out of the Republican-dominated Missouri General Assembly as, among other things, a bunch of "knuckleheads" was spot on.

Deadbeat parents

In response to the Speak Out about deadbeat dads: What about dead beat moms who don't take care of children when the father has custody?

Wasted money

I think it's great that the Isle Casino turns so much revenue to the city of Cape Girardeau. The way the city leaders are using the money is wasteful. Sidewalks to nowhere, congested lanes and more. Why not invest in the people who keep Cape Girardeau safe?
