Someone said that the new stormwater drainage ditch voters passed this month may not solve all the problems but that "it sure has to help." Really? We have Cape officials overseeing this, so judging by how they handle our roads and the drainage ditches already in place, not only does what they do not "have" to help, there's a great chance it will do more harm than good and cost more money than what is currently in place. There is a drainage ditch along the back of our neighborhood that the city has not once, in at least 10 years, maintained or taken care of. It is a disaster and breeding place for mosquitoes, snakes, etc. It is never cleared out and is for the most part useless. Don't kid yourselves. The city of Cape is now involved, so the problems will probably escalate rather than be solved.
