Anybody worried about the weather lately? Maybe God's trying to get our attention.
Beware of a scam. Twice I've gotten a card to call 1-855 number to be able to get a $100 reward card for Wal-Mart or Target and more. First time, they wanted me to send a dollar. Second card, they wanted me to send $4. I called a local police. They, too, said it was a scam. Beware.
The caller who called in the comment as to why America has declined is right on target. I personally know more than one girl who got pregnant on purpose so she could get a free college education, a monthly check, food stamps, housing, heat assistance, etc. They should have to pay for their college as soon as they are employed, just like others who are struggling, because they didn't choose to bring a baby into this world when they couldn't afford to. Our government just doesn't make any sense. We reward those who cheat and punish the others who try to do the right thing.
I'm hearing that this administration is cutting the military. Now, I know this will just make all these young men and women who were planning on getting out of school and joining the Army, that they'll just be thrilled to join one where this administration just keeps cutting and cutting in the military. They give all these pork projects, which are stupid. But yet the military, which is so important, they want to cut. And one of these days when one of these foreign countries that doesn't like us come over here, we're going to be in deep trouble. We need to get the Democrats out of the White House.
People on Social Security got the shaft again. They didn't give them much of a raise. Said prices didn't go up. Not sure where they were getting their information from. It must have been 20-year-old newspapers. In the news today, if you're a meat eater you've probably noticed a bigger food shopping bill lately. The price of lean ground beef and bacon is about 20 percent higher than a year ago while the price of chicken breast is almost 6 percent higher -- all well above the 1.5 percent increase in the CPI. Not counting gas and other things,
How sad. With the right and left attempting to make a political football out of the Common Core Curriculum, the students are, as usual, caught in the middle and again have had their best interests subverted to a distant second place because of these seamy political games.
SEMO should become a smoke-free campus and should do what many other colleges do: Fine students who are caught smoking on campus. My son and daughter attend different colleges, both of which do not allow the use of any tobacco products on campus and both of which fine students in a system of graduating fines. One charges $50 the first time, $100 the next, and so on. The person doesn't have to be smoking, but just has to have tobacco products out in the open. My kids say it took a few semesters for students to get the point, but now they never see smoking on campus. SEMO is far behind the times on this issue (typical, unfortunately) and needs to step up, stop doing studies and surveys, and have the guts to take a stand.
