ALL I have to say about this election business is this will be the last presidential election I will ever vote in. I have never seen anything like it in my life if Bush and the secretary of state will not let all the votes be counted. There are too many Americans being left out. ...
Not her choice
ALL I have to say about this election business is this will be the last presidential election I will ever vote in. I have never seen anything like it in my life if Bush and the secretary of state will not let all the votes be counted. There are too many Americans being left out. If it shows Bush wins and all the votes have been counted, that is fine. But if it shows Gore wins, then Gore should get it. It should not be left up to the secretary of state in Florida to decide when to cut the vote off.
Gridlock isn't new
GOOD OLD Southeast Missourian, you are at it again. I am an independent voter, and I have no problem with George Bush winning the Electoral College vote. On your opinion page you have a cartoons showing gridlock is going to be in our capitol now. Why don't you always tell the truth and do it right instead of being so narrow-minded. Gridlock got you the Gingrich army and Dan Burton. Republicans took over Congress and showed anger and hatred that weren't there for almost 40 years. Gridlock started a few years ago, guys.
Too much basketball
HAVE WE gone inane on sports enthusiasm in our communities? Eighth graders in Jackson are playing three basketball games in one week. Three nights out. Come on people. It is about education, not about football or whatever. Give the kids a break. They need to have some kind of study besides bouncing a ball on a court. Where are your priorities?

Deceptive Democrats
HOW DECEIVING the Democrats are, recounting only heavily Democratic counties only. How many votes were thrown out of heavily Republican counties that weren't counted? Blaming the ballots on the intelligence of the voters, the machines, the officials, the secretary of state who obeyed the law, and then putting pressure on Democratic Florida Supreme Court judges to make new laws and rules. People are seeing how the Clinton-Gore administration works. The military already knows. They showed their opinion at the ballot box. It is time to go. We haven't had any pride or patriotism in the past eight years.
Planning a donation
I AM calling about the presidential election. I would like to donate some Pampers and tissue paper to the Gore campaign. If you could give me an address where to send these items, it would be very much appreciated.
Broken commandments
I WOULD like to make a comment about the person who wrote in about the two commandments. He only lives by two of his 10 commandments. The only two commandments he claims to live by he just broke. He called the man who gives his renters hell and talks to them like a dog a hypocrite and accused him of not being a Christian. Doesn't sound to me like he is loving his neighbor as himself. God does not make us vote for a certain candidate. With his help Christians pray for his guidance whether it be for voting or any other choices we make.
