In regards to putting an amphitheater in the Scott City Park in Scott City, I voted for capital improvement taxes, thinking my money was going to improve our city. As was stated in the Southeast Missourian, the Scott City Council members want to make the amphitheater plan and funding more transparent to city residents. They were concerned the residents were not aware of what the $20,000 tax money was going for. No, I was not aware. It should have been made transparent when we were voting. I do not want to see an amphitheater in our quiet, family-oriented park. In my opinion, what we need is a new playground complex with a safety surface.
I will be the first one to say I know absolutely nothing about the president of Jordan. But by doggone, when his pilot was burned alive by ISIS, he did something about it. He didn't say, "Oh, that's terrible," and go play golf. What we need in this country is a strong president, who stands up for us and just thinks only of himself and his pleasure. All he wants to do is go around every day, you see him on TV, making a speech, making a speech. Well, he's good at doing speeches, but he is very poor at being a president.
