THANK you to the photographers and volunteers who provided professional quality photographs for so many people at the House of Hope. You were making spirits bright.
I was wondering if anybody else thought as I do. It seems to me like our television has gone to the dogs.
YOU people worried about deer causing car accidents need to put your worries somewhere else, like all the people running stop signs and red lights. I'll tell you what, let's spend $20,000 to conduct a survey on how to stop law breakers. It baffles the mind of most intelligent individuals how the city manager has no sense and can't get his own employees to save the city money to conduct the survey.
I'M sure glad that they're going to do something about this texting and driving. You're not supposed to do anything that will distract you when you're driving. That includes eating a sandwich, drinking a soda -- of course, we know about drinking and driving and smoking a cigarette. That's all a distraction. I know somebody who was smoking and killed a lady, happened years ago, and she dropped a cigarette and reached down to pick it up and ran her car off the road, hit a pole and killed her. We should have a law that you aren't supposed to do anything that will distract you while you're driving.
I mailed a packet on Dec. 13 to Memphis, Tenn., for a two-day delivery. It arrived six days later on Dec. 19. I mailed a small box on Dec. 19 at the post office by regular delivery to Columbia, Mo. It will not arrive until sometime in the week of Dec. 26. In my opinion, we should let the post office go under and return to the Pony Express. I am positive the mail will be delivered quicker.
A Ron Paul win in Iowa will take all of the excitement out of the Republican race for the presidential nomination by ensuring the nominee will be Mitt Romney. Sorry, Newt.
SO someone thinks the government would do a better job of taking care of children in foster care? Read some history and ask an American Indian what they think of "government care."
