A long wait

IF YOU think you have to wait long to see your doctor now, how do you think it would be if our government started free health coverage for everyone? There would be people running to the doctor every time they got a little ache or pain. You would be waiting days or weeks instead of just an hour or two.

Cut to the chase

DO YOU think Al Gore would be campaigning against global warming if he was making $8 an hour trying to feed a family and had to decide whether or not his kids had meat for dinner or to fill his vehicle up so he could get to work in order to take care of his family.

Time for Plan B

SORRY, ANTI-WAR crowd, but the relative success of the surge has moved news of the war off the front page and will require presidential candidates who banked on anti-war sentiment to catapult them into the White House to shift to Plan B.

Lights on Haddock

THE HOUSE with the Christmas lights on Haddock Street is great. They are always different from year to year and get better with designs. I wish they were on a through street so everyone could enjoy them. It's worth the drive over there to see the wonderful lights. And it's the first house I have seen with a Christmas tree decorated in the yard.

Handicapped parking

THIS IS your conscience speaking. I know this is a busy time of year. Everyone is in a hurry and trying to get a lot done. However, the disabled and handicapped parking spots are not meant for you. They are meant for disabled and handicapped people. I have left notes under your windshield wiper that say "Shame on you for parking in the handicapped spot." I also called the police. If you choose to park there, look over your shoulder.

Iran's nuclear plans

IRAN ISN'T trying to make a bomb? Give me a break. Should we take a chance? Why would Iran want nuclear power with all the petroleum they will ever need? Power-hungry leaders of Iran admit to their own nuclear program. Israel's sources say they are building a bomb.
