I have to tell you, I'm not a big fan of Jackson. But that big American flag flying over city hall is majestic.
I'm calling in about the Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials. An 8 percent increase in wages statewide for the elected officials? I'm looking to see who votes themselves the extra 8 percent. Most Americans only get 1 or 2 percent. Whoever votes this in, I will follow you and I will try to vote you out. This is disgusting. I wish I could vote myself 8 percent increase in my wage. Thank you for letting me get this off my chest. It's ridiculous.
I'm calling about the post office service from last year, or even this year. Our mail is so slow. Last year I sent my taxes off four days early, and I got a letter back that I was late. Now, it'll take four days to go from Cape. I know it goes to St. Louis. But what I'm saying is, when they got my letter and got my money from my taxes, I had to pay a penalty. And it wasn't because of me, because I'm disabled. And I'm a widower.
In your Sunday, Nov. 16, paper, Donna Brazille in her article, her opinion shows what a liar she is. She says that, "No one ... even considered the alternative to incentivize states to establish an exchange by withholding subsidies." But on that same page at the bottom, Charles Krauthammer points out that the principal architect of Obamacare, Jonathan Gruber, said that exactly, that if you're a state and you don't set up an exchange, that means that your citizens don't get their tax credits. And this man was paid almost $400,000 to help build Obamacare. And twice he said that's what they were doing, that the states wouldn't get tax credits unless they set up their own exchanges.
Often there are people standing near the Walmarts with signs asking for money. Broken down, homeless, etc. Sometimes I donate to them. I would do more if I was sure their need was real and not a trick.
Surprised and at loss for words was our reaction when some lovely young ladies paid for our dinner at Chinatown Buffet. We want to thank them and wish them many blessings and nice surprises. We will pay it forward.
