Just wanted to give a big thumbs up to the SEMO women's basketball head coach Ty Margenthaler. He is representing the program extremely well. He has a good relationship with his players, motivating them to do their best and come together as a team. Coach Margenthaler

Just wanted to give a big thumbs up to the SEMO women's basketball head coach Ty Margenthaler. He is representing the program extremely well. He has a good relationship with his players, motivating them to do their best and come together as a team. Among all the criticism we in today's age are prone to, I want to give coach Margenthaler a solid pat on the back and to let him know that he is doing a great job. His efforts are not going unnoticed and are much appreciated, and that he and his team are doing things the right way. Go Redhawks!

Police station

Yes, I would like to comment about the article that was in Speak Out about the police station. As I was reading through that, I had seen where the gentleman or lady who had put that in the paper was complaining about when they worked there the heat didn't work correctly in the winter time and the air conditioner didn't work correctly in the summertime. They were a little upset about that. My thinking is, what would you do if you worked outside where you worked in the extreme cold in the wintertime with no heat and you worked in the extreme heat and you had no way of getting cool?

Justified wars

I don't see how the Speak Out caller can call the wars we were in ill-conceived. Our World Trade Center was attacked. Our Pentagon was attacked. The United States is not going to sit idly by with so many deaths and brutality to us and our people. Sure, I would love to see the real country that I saw as the problem, Pakistan, get hit good and hard. But, truthfully, looking back and seeing it for what it is, they're one of our allies. And the United States cannot afford to lose an ally. Afghanistan is a breeding ground for terrorists. So they had to be gotten after. Iraq just simply gave us a foothold to go in and send the message that this won't be tolerated,

Electric idea

Yeah, hydroelectric dams would be the best pick for our electrical needs. There's no pollution. You don't need to use fossil fuels. They pollute the air and the water.

Cellphones

The theory behind the cellphones for the poor is it's hard to get a job unless there's a telephone number to reach someone. I know because I wasn't always well off or had enough money. I grew up in a family that was kind of peculiar, and when I was 18 I was basically expected to leave the house. But not only that, because I was a girl, my dad didn't think I should have a car to drive. And this was back in the '70s, and I suppose there could still be some weird dads out there. He told me I didn't need a phone until I could pay for a phone. I basically had nothing when I left home. I think it was only because I was a female in this society that I was lucky and married someone who has been able to take very good care of me. But just because I'm fortunate doesn't mean that others are. I understand why you need a cellphone. There were times when I'd go apply for a job, and without a number to reach you, maybe people won't go with you.

Food allergies

I worry about the results, but would you do a story surveying area schools to see whether they've stockpiled any or enough medication to deal with a food allergy emergency?

No apology

The Democrats owe no apology for Obamacare. Are the Republicans apologizing for when George Bush left office, you know, our country was left with a great deficit? Our economy was in shambles. Excuse me. I'm listening. I hear no apology from the Republicans. So, let's just call it even.
