The Electoral College was created so small states would have a say in the presidential election. That's why it is so important to win certain states. Mitt Romney was so far ahead in Florida, North Carolina and Virginia. A polling company pulled out and said it was over in these states for Obama. It is looking very good for Romney, but the best thing to do is to vote. Voting is a privilege, and each American citizen should exercise this privilege. Election Day is the real poll.
Wow. President Obama was endorsed by the Salt Lake City Tribune.
I can't believe what I'm seeing with Romney. He promises everyone everything and flip flops on everything. Nobody's going to have to pay anything. Look out, I've never seen anyone flip like he does.
We have 53 million illegal immigrants in the country, and we say we need them to do jobs we will not do. We have aborted 53 million Americans in our country; they had no chance at any jobs. They now take space in a landfill. We say pregnancy is a cancer; we have to now have health care to provide us a pill to prevent this cancer; and if we get the cancer we have to be able to have the surgical procedure to get rid of it. This is all very strange. It also seems strange that everything Hitler did in his time was also legal in his country. Wake up, America. "Roll back the vices of our time."
I am glad seniors have their Social Security checks, but think about it. If you only receive back what you paid in would you still be receiving a check? If there were no Medicare or Medicaid, could seniors take care of their own health care? The longer seniors live, the more they are supported by the taxes of those still working and paying into the system. There is a bright side to that. My taxes going to seniors keep my in-laws in their own home and out of mine.
Yes, we need smaller government so that things like this outbreak of fungal meningitis can hit so many people. If they would have had more money and more control, this might not have infected so many people. We have government to help the people, not make 10 percent rich like Congress has been doing. Congress spends the money in the wrong places.
At the VP debate, Vice President Joe Biden said, "Let me make it absolutely clear: No religious institution, Catholic or otherwise, including Catholic Social Services, Georgetown Hospital, Mercy Hospital, any hospital, none has to either refer contraception, none has to pay for contraception, none has to be a vehicle to get contraception in any insurance policy they provide. That is a fact. That is a fact." When someone tells a lie and they know that they are lying, there is often an obvious sign. Like they laugh too much or say this is the truth twice. When VP Joe Biden said, "This is a fact" twice, it was a giveaway that he knew he was lying.
Four years ago the stock market was depressed and America had just begun the worst job loss period since the Great Depression. The auto industry, employing millions of people directly and indirectly, was on the verge of collapse. We were fighting two wars, neither with an end in sight. It's clear we are better off today than four years ago.
