The sculpture program along Broadway is wonderful. I enjoy it. I hope it will keep up for years.
I beg to differ with the Speak Out caller who noted the irony of the humble pope sitting next to the biggest egomaniac in the world. Donald Trump was not on that stage.
I am so disappointed with The Donald. Though he will attempt to couch his tax plan as a big boon to the middle class, in reality it's more of the same tried and failed, trickle-down economics of the past -- a supply-side tax plan "on steroids," as one pundit put it, with huge tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. I've known some right-wing populists and, Donald Trump, you're no right wing populist, meaning candidate of the ordinary conservative people. Your tax plan is such that the Republican establishment may begin to see you as acceptable instead of as a renegade to be stopped at all costs.
Response to "Seperation:" Why did the pope address Congress? Maybe because they needed it!
Saturday, Sept. 26, was the sixth annual Vets and Fallen Heroes Poker Run put on by father and son Randy and Teddy Eggimann. One-hundred-thirty bikers visited our vets at the VA home. A lot of money was raised for the vets. Where was the local coverage? KFVS promised to be there, but didn't show up. Not a word in the Missourian, either, but the golf game made the front page. Really, golf game over the vets? Shame on KFVS and the Missourian for ignoring our vets, and thanks to the Eggimanns for never forgetting our vets.
I don't get it. Congressman Jason Smith is on record as saying he is as conservative as one can be. And yet, I don't find his name on the list of the 40 or so members of the House's Freedom Caucus, the most conservative-as-conservative-can-be members of the House. It's very disillusioning to think it's even remotely possible he's part of the business-as-usual crowd.
Could someone please enforce a no run or bicycle route on County Road 621? The road is too narrow and (has) no shoulders for runners and bicycles versus automobiles. We spent millions on trails in the city for that purpose. Use them.
