Be preacher or politician

TO THE person who put in Speak Out voting advice saying "thank God for the ministers and preachers for telling their flock and not being afraid of telling their flock, who to vote for." You know, I think a preacher that gets up and tells anybody in church who to vote for and who not to vote for should not be in the house of the Lord preaching the gospel. A preacher is supposed to preach God's word according to the Bible and that only. That's what he's getting paid for. He's not getting paid to tell me who to vote for and who not to vote for. He is getting paid to tell the truth about God.

A chance to speak up

GARY RUST is a very wise man. He knew if you really want to take the pulse of the country and people's true feelings about situations and conditions in the community, you can best accomplish that fact by giving the people the opportunity to call Speak Out anonymously. Then you get the essence of the heart and soul of the people. That's why Speak Out has been so successful.

Saving part of history

I JUST read that the council is going to try and save the Missouri side on land part of the bridge. That would be great for a look out and at the same time preserve a part of our history. Go for it.

Putting on the pressure

THIS IS Tuesday morning. I'm watching the news on "Good Morning, America" about U.S. soldiers being forced to re-enlist and being told if they don't re-enlist they're going to be sent back over to Iraq. When reporters asked the government, it was not the policy to do this. Now isn't it ironic that every time the government gets confronted with something wrong that its doing, someone says "That's not our policy, we didn't do it." We all know what's going on. Behind the scenes, they're pulling these kids aside. First they're pulling the recruiters aside, the government is saying you get these guys to re-enlist any way you have to, then they're coming back to the soldiers and putting the pressure on them.

Reimbursed for recall

I WAS just watching the news. It says Vioxx is being recalled. I just bought a three months' supply a week and a half ago, and it cost me $90. Is the company going to reimburse consumers for this? I could use some help.
